Safe, Efficient, and Precise Tree Extraction

Tree Removal in Chancellor, SD | Professional Removal

Chancellor was built in 1894 around a railroad sidetrack and a grain elevator, and it grew into a town known for having the best grain market in Turner County. With roots like that, work done properly still counts for a lot. Sioux Falls Elite Tree Care brings a professional approach to every removal, from the first conversation to the final walkthrough, for homeowners, farm operations, churches, and businesses in and around town.

Professional means you know who's coming, what they'll do, and what it will cost before any work begins. It means a crew that arrives prepared, respects your property and your neighbors, and leaves the site exactly the way we agreed. Request a quote and we'll schedule a time to walk the property with you.

Why Chancellor Property Owners Choose Us

Sioux Falls Elite Tree Care is based in Sioux Falls, about 20 miles northeast of Chancellor, and we run every job the way a professional service should. You'll deal with people who show up when they say they will, explain the plan in plain terms, put the scope in writing, and treat your property and your neighbors with respect. When the work is finished, the site is left the way we agreed, and you'll know exactly what you paid for.

A Sidetrack, an Elevator, and the Iron Chancellor

In 1893, the townships around today's Chancellor had more than 70 farms, about ten country schools, and several churches, but no town. Settlers chose a site on the Milwaukee Railroad between Lennox and Parker, and in 1894 a sidetrack was built there, marking the town's beginning. The early German settlers, part of the largest East Frisian settlement in South Dakota, named it after Otto von Bismarck, Germany's first chancellor, known as the Iron Chancellor. John D. Heeren opened the first store on Main Street in 1895 and served as the first postmaster.

The town's first grain elevator went up in 1894, and by 1908 there were four, earning Chancellor a reputation for the best grain market in Turner County. A depot followed in 1898, and when the town incorporated in 1900, one of its first ordinances banned riding or driving livestock on the sidewalks, with a fine of two to five dollars. By 1904 about 25 businesses lined the streets, and the Chancellor State Bank, organized that year, still operates today as Security Bank. Agriculture remains central, with the POET biorefinery outside town processing tens of millions of bushels of locally grown corn each year. Today 300 people live in Chancellor, which covers less than a quarter of a square mile.

What Professional Tree Removal Looks Like

Professional tree work starts well before the first cut. The crew should arrive at the scheduled time with equipment suited to the job, and someone on site should be clearly in charge, able to walk you through the plan and answer questions as the day goes on. Trucks should be parked so they don't block a neighbor's driveway, the mailbox, or the street any more than necessary, and the crew should treat your yard, your home, and the people next door with respect. At the end of the day, the site should look the way the quote said it would, with nothing left for you to sort out.

It also helps to know what unprofessional work looks like. Be cautious of anyone who knocks on the door after a storm offering a deal that's only good today, asks for a large cash payment before any work is done, or won't put the scope and price in writing. A crew that can't tell you who's in charge or how to reach them after the job is another warning sign. A professional crew will give you a clear written quote, a way to contact them once the work is done, and an honest answer if a job is outside what they're equipped to handle safely.

Professional Service for Farms, Churches, and Businesses

Farm operations around town run on their own calendar. Planting and harvest are the busiest stretches of the year, so tree work on a farmstead is usually best scheduled outside those windows, unless a tree is threatening a building or blocking a lane. When the work happens, lanes stay open for grain trucks and equipment wherever possible, and trees crowding bins, machine sheds, dryers, or overhead service lines are planned around those structures first. We'll work with you on a date that fits the farm calendar instead of asking the farm to fit ours.

Churches, businesses, and community organizations often need something extra before a tree can come down: approval from a board, council, or committee. That process goes more smoothly with clear documentation, so we provide a written description of the tree, the reason for removal, the method, and the full scope of work that can be shared at a meeting. Scheduling can be built around services, meetings, or events so the work doesn't interfere with the people who use the property. It's the same professional approach, adapted to the people who have to sign off on the decision.
